Dunes Junk Removal (“Dunes Junk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a local junk removal, donation pickup, and storage hauling service run by local high schoolers Ollie Pearce and Carson Guyton. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit dunesjunk.com, request a quote, text with us, or hire us, and how we use and protect it.

The short version: we use your information to quote, schedule, and complete your job, to talk with you about it, and, only if you separately opt in, to send occasional promotional texts. We do not sell your personal information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Information we collect

Information you give us

When you fill out our quote form, text or contact us, or book a job, we may collect:

  • Your name, mobile phone number, and email address
  • Pickup and service addresses, and storage facility or drop-off details
  • Job details, such as the items to haul, dates and times that work for you, and access notes
  • Photos you choose to send of the items or space
  • Your text messages and other messages to us, and your SMS consent choices (customer care and/or marketing) and opt-outs
  • Payment information needed to complete a job. We accept cash, check, or Venmo. Venmo payments are processed by Venmo under its own privacy policy, and we see only the payment details Venmo shares with us (such as your Venmo name and the amount). We do not collect or store credit card or bank account details, apart from the information printed on a check you give us, which is used only to deposit it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our site and its hosting and form providers may automatically collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit, and may use cookies or similar technologies needed for the site and quote form to work.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your quote request and give you a price
  • Schedule, confirm, remind you about, and complete your job
  • Communicate with you by text message, phone, or email about your quote, appointment, and service (customer care)
  • Send occasional promotional and marketing text messages, only if you checked the separate marketing consent box
  • Arrange donation drop-offs, disposal, or storage deliveries for your items
  • Keep basic records of jobs and payments, and handle questions or issues
  • Keep our website and services working, safe, and secure, and comply with legal obligations

Text messaging (SMS) and mobile information

Texting is optional. We text you only if you give consent by checking the matching optional, unchecked box on our quote form (or by texting us first and asking us to reply by text). Submitting the form alone does not sign you up for texts.

Dunes Junk Removal (program name: Dunes Junk Removal) sends two kinds of text messages. Each one has its own separate, optional, unchecked consent checkbox on our quote form, and you can choose either, both, or neither:

  • Customer care and service texts (first checkbox): appointment confirmations, reminders, scheduling and rescheduling, quote follow-ups, arrival updates, and updates about your inquiry.
  • Promotional and marketing texts (second checkbox): occasional offers, seasonal reminders, and news about Dunes Junk Removal services. We send these only if you check the marketing box.
  • Message frequency varies.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe; you will get one confirmation text and no further messages. Reply HELP for help.
  • Consent to receive texts of either kind is not a condition of purchase or of getting a quote. Leaving both boxes unchecked does not affect your quote or service.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile number, SMS opt-in data, or consent to anyone, including lead generators.

Information may be shared with our messaging and service providers (see below) only as needed to send you the texts you asked for and to operate our services, and never for their own marketing purposes. See our SMS / Text Messaging Terms for full program details.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services:

  • Service providers that help us run the business, such as website hosting, our quote form and customer management tool, and our text messaging and phone providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Donation centers, disposal sites, and storage facilities, only the details needed to drop off or deliver your items (for example, your name or unit number at a storage facility).
  • Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of you, us, or others.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of the sharing described above and will not be shared with any third parties.

How long we keep information

We keep your information only as long as we need it to provide our services, keep reasonable business and tax records, resolve issues, and meet legal obligations. Photos and job details for quotes that don’t turn into jobs are deleted when they are no longer needed. If you reply STOP, we keep a record of your opt-out so we don’t text you again.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, such as limiting access to the people running Dunes Junk and using reputable service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

  • Text messages: reply STOP to any text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: you can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we must keep.
  • Email or calls: tell us if you no longer want to hear from us.

Children’s privacy

Our services and website are meant for adults arranging service at their home or storage unit. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our site may link to or embed content from other services, such as our quote form provider. Their own privacy policies govern how they handle information you give them directly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Material changes to how we handle mobile information will not apply to consent you gave before the change without your agreement.
